Set 1: RA Flautista
Set 2: Ryan Peoples and Erich Netherton with Scott Burland
Ryan Peoples (vocals and multi-instrumentalist) and Erich Netherton (drums) have collaborated for more than a decade in Atlanta’s music scene while also working as sound designers in the local film community. For this performance, they will take a more experimental approach: Ryan will process his vocals through a modular synthesizer, while Erich will perform on the Netherbox, an instrument he invented that has been featured in TED Talks and the Guthman Musical Instrument Competition.
They will be joined by Scott Burland, who has been performing on the theremin for more than twenty years and embraces a philosophy captured by a quote from Brian Eno:
“To do most things in the way you intended is very difficult; OK, I can't do this well, so let's see what interesting ways I can fail.”
Together, the trio will explore the unpredictable spaces between intention, improvisation, and discovery.
