Set 1: Kebbi Williams & Miguel Atwood Ferguson
Set 2: Tomasz Chyla Quintet featuring Kebbi Williams
Tomasz Chyła Quintet – one of the most exciting young-generation bands in Polish jazz. The quintet is led by a charismatic violinist, known for his unique, sharp instrumental sound, uncompromising approach, and fearless musical expression. For several years, his quintet has been exploring improvised music without limitations, drawing inspiration from various other musical genres. These explorations have resulted in five albums to date: Eternal Entropy (2017), Circlesongs (2018), Live at Polish Radio 3 (2019), da Vinci (2021), and Music We Like To Dance To (2023).
In November 2023, Tomasz Chyła Quintet released their fourth studio album, Music We Like To Dance To, under the independent label Alpaka Records. The album’s promotional tour took place across Asia and Europe.
Their latest album, Music We Like To Dance To, is an invitation to dance—free from unnecessary theorizing or overcomplicated reflections. It embodies musical honesty, allowing listeners to find exactly what they need in the moment. Prog-rock riffs, interwoven with beautiful melodies, highlight the essential role of music, which has served humanity for centuries. Listening to the tracks, one feels as if they are at a great party—where the music electrifies the entire body, and before you know it, you start dancing.
The album was recognized as the best jazz record of 2023 in Poland, and the band was named one of the top jazz ensembles on the Polish music scene.
In the fall of 2024, the band had the opportunity to perform with the outstanding saxophonist from Atlanta, Grammy Award winner Kebbi Williams.
