EYEDRUM Gallery is proud to present the work of Darya Fard August 10-27, with an opening reception August 10, 2-5PM. Darya is a multidisciplinary artist. Her work explores spiritual inquiry through mathematically structured forms, investigating universal intelligence. She is particularly interested in the intersection of visual art and time-based media, drawing inspiration from Persian literature, poetry, mythology, psychology, scientific studies, Moorish design, and natural phenomena. Darya Fard's current exhibition consists of polygonal, two and three-dimensional installations that explore phenomenology, intentionality, spirituality, and consciousness. By layering diverse mediums, she creates immersive, atmospheric spaces that symbolize the universe’s cyclical rhythm, inviting viewers to engage with their sensations and experience flow. Utilizing unconventional techniques on alternative surfaces, she constructs spaces imbued with mystery, encouraging exploration of the fluid connections between the material and spiritual worlds.
Darya holds an MFA in Printmaking from Georgia State University in Atlanta, as well as a BFA and her first MFA in Painting from Tehran, Iran. She has actively exhibited her work in solo, invitational, juried, and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Her work has been featured in publications such as Atiba9 magazine, ArtsATL, Voyage Magazine, Bold Journey, and CanvasRebel. Her work is also featured on the cover of Technocreep & The Politics of Things Not Seen. Darya has received multiple awards for artistic excellence, including the Edge Award and MFA Emerging Artist of Georgia Award. She has also been selected for prestigious residency programs such as the Atlanta Midtown Alliance Art Residency Program, the Hambidge Art Residency Program.
