The event is free. Address: Eyedrum - 515 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30312
The screening will start with an intro from Syd. Screening followed by an open conversation to discuss the film.
We are so excited to see you there!
PARKING: Eyedrum’s entrance faces an interior courtyard with limited parking. However, they do have overflow parking available onsite. They are also accessible to the West End MARTA station as a 15-minute walk (about 3/4 of a mile) or a quick 5-minute jump into your preferred car-sharing situation.
MEET SYD: Syd Stan is a multidisciplinary creative and Atlanta native. As an employee of Tara Theater and Videodrome, Syd considers herself a career cinephile or “professional movie enjoyer”. Over the past three years she has helped program and host a number of repertory films across the Tara and Plaza theaters. Her first solo series, “Just as a Flower Does Not Choose Its Color”, a triptych of unempathetic women in horror, ran at Tara in the fall of 2023. Currently, you can see her co-hosting monthly screenings with local production company Reel Friends.
Syd believes that repertory screenings not only strengthen communities, but function as preservation of the past and as a form of mass education. She has a soft spot for vintage children’s television shows, 2000s indie rock, and sketch comedy.
